Emily Grace Sturgill was stillborn September 28, 2004. Parents of stillborns are left with shattered hopes and dreams for the child they have been anticipating. When Erin and I learned that we would have to be induced after Erin's water broke at 20 weeks, the doctors informed us that the baby would not survive. If she was breathing when she was born, they told us it would only be a matter of minutes before she would die. Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for any donation you are able to give. We thank God for the time we were able to spend with our first baby and pray that we'll have a lifetime with the next one, thanks to you and the research done by the March of Dimes.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
