Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives. On April 8, 2005 my son, Kalob Wainwright was still born at 2:17 a.m.. In remembrence of him, I will walk with the March of Dimes and raise as much money as possible to help other families in their struggle to save their children. Life or death is in God's plan, but it's also in your plan to help save these little lives; that's why you came to this website. A little bit goes a long way, no amount is too small to save a life.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
