Please support me in my walk for other premature infants, just like my precious twins boys: Evan and Aidan, born at 31 weeks (9 weeks early). It was through donations and the Good Samaritan Hospital (Cincinnati, OH) NICU that our two precious miracles survived their early arrival into the world on 11/30/04. We will never be able to repay the wonderful NICU staff for everything they did for our two miracle baby boys.
In 2006, we were blessed with another baby. It was another high risk pregnancy for me. I had my cervix stitched closed at 14 weeks (cerclage) and took weekly 17alpha hydroxyprogesterone injections. I started with pre-term labor at 24 weeks and was promptly put on strict bedrest. Thank God for miracles, our baby Izabella was born full-term and healthy on August 22, 2006. What a difference a full term pregnancy makes.
In February 2008, we found out we are pregnant with our 4th baby, due Halloween 2008. I am scheduled for my cerclage surgery on 4/30/08 (just days after the March of Dimes walk!) and will also be taking the 17alpha hydroxyprogesterone caproate injections that I took during my pregnancy with Izabella. We are praying for another full term miracle!
We are truly blessed.
Today in the US, 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
