You likely know someone who was born prematurely or is a parent of a premature child. Despite the too-common occurence of premature births (1 out of every 8 babies), prematurity needs to be a problem of the past.
A baby born prematurely can face a host of health problems. One overall problem is that the organs of the babies are not fully developed and are unable to properly function at the time of birth. Some of these babies won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime.
The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.
Rebecca, in many ways, has been very fortunate and we are grateful for the work of the March of Dimes. Please consider making a donation.
Thanks.
Geoff
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
